Avaya Certification Guide: Overview and Career Paths
IT professionals may know Avaya's unified communications and networking products, but the company is also a major player in customer relationship management (CRM) integration and team engagement solutions. With its origins in AT&T and Lucent Technologies, Avaya has grown into a company with billions of dollars of assets and its customers are spread all over the world.
The Avaya Professional Certificate Program is born out of the need for trained, knowledgeable personnel who can sell and design solutions for customers, as well as implement and maintain Avaya products and solutions.
Job Opportunities for Avaya Certified Professionals
A quick glance at popular job boards (such as SimplyHired
and Indeed) shows more than 2,000 open positions, looking for candidates with
Avaya skills or certificates. These personnel include system engineers, network
engineers, technical managers, infrastructure engineers and telephone experts,
as well as sales specialists and account managers in various positions.
Avaya's skills also require a healthy salary. For example, according to Glassdoor, the median annual salary of technicians is $111,000, and the median annual salary of technical managers is about $125,000. The typical salary for Avaya sales engineers is about $100,200, ranging from $79,800 to more than $132,000.
Avaya Professional Certificate Program Overview
Today, Avaya's credentials are consistent with Avaya's participation solutions. This means that they are designed to support Avaya solutions that customers and teams participate in, as well as fiber optic and cloud networks. Avaya credentials fall into one of two categories:
Sales and Design-This category applies to Avaya employees
and channel partners who sell or design solutions based on customer needs.
Services-This category is open to anyone who implements,
manages, maintains and troubleshoots Avaya products and solutions. Treat
service credentials as credentials primarily aimed at IT professionals.
Note: Since design and sales vouchers are only available to
Avaya business partners and partners, in the rest of this article, we will
focus on service vouchers.
Almost all Avaya certificates are valid for two years. To maintain a certificate, you must meet the recertification requirements before the certificate expires, which usually means passing a current online exam or a supervised exam.
Avaya uses both online exams and supervised exams. Online testing is conducted through the Avaya Learning Center; they provide free sales vouchers at a cost of $90. The service certification supervision exam costs $125 and can be purchased through Pearson VUE.
Note: In notifications only, Avaya uses the word "credential" in some names and "certificate" in other names. The company also uses abbreviations to cover different certification sets. We will try our best to maintain the correctness of Avaya nomenclature and point to abbreviation warnings where necessary.
Avaya service credentials and certification
The service category has a professional expert certificate and a certified expert certificate. If it is not clear, all requirements and more detailed information will be detailed in the Avaya Service Credentials Guide.

the installation itself.
Avaya training and certification resources
Although Avaya provides training, the company also works with many partners to provide training on Avaya products and services, as well as certificates and certifications. (Training is recommended, but not required.) The Avaya training catalog may be a little difficult to navigate, so it may be easier to drill into specific credentials or certificates to find related course titles.
Candidates who wish to obtain one or more Avaya
certifications but do not have a basic understanding of the basic technology of
Avaya products, please contact WestNet Learning or SIP School. In addition to
the courses, WestNet Learning also provides free basic basic knowledge
assessment tools for candidates to use to assess their current knowledge and
areas for improvement. SIP schools are known for their Session Initiation
Protocol (SIP) and Voice over IP (VoIP) training courses and their own
certification programs. Both parties provide promotional prices or training
discounts for Avaya voucher/certification candidates
